The Mechanical Comprehension Test measures a candidate's existing knowledge of mechanical concepts, including pulleys, levers, cogs, springs, and circuit boards, requiring candidates to identify which principles apply to solve each question.
The assessment is organised into 8 question sets of 4 questions each, 32 multiple-choice items in total, to complete in 20 minutes. Candidates examine diagrams and perform basic calculations where needed. It is used for technical and construction roles, emergency services, and armed forces positions.
